My first trip of 2017, was to a true Winter Wonderland, Aspen! This was my very first trip to Aspen, Colorado, and I didn't know what to expect. It was definitely an adventure, and little did I know, the luggage that I had checked at the Miami Airport prior to my flight, would never make it to me in Aspen. Luckily, Hotel Jerome's incredible and caring staff made my trip absolutely amazing, and exceeded my expectations.
Keep in mind when visiting Aspen in the colder months, there is a ton of snowfall. January is definitely one of the more popular winter months. This is great for people who enjoy outdoor sports such as skiing. Expect flight cancellations, delayed luggage, and snow storms. Packing essentials in your carry on has a whole new meaning to me now. I had a connecting flight from Dallas to Aspen around six in the evening. Due to the amount of snow (in both Dallas and Aspen), my flight was delayed six times before finally being cancelled. I had to fly into Grand Junction, Colorado from Dallas, and then took a two hour uber ride to Hotel Jerome in Aspen.
Even though it was a little passed midnight, the drive from Grand Junction to Aspen was absolutely gorgeous. I hadn't seen snow in about seven years, so it was refreshing to drive through the stunning Rocky Mountains. We were the only car on the road (on both sides of the highway) for almost the entire two hour drive. The uber driver informed me that this drive was very common due to the amount of people with cancelled flights.
We had finally arrived at Hotel Jerome in Aspen around three in the morning, after finding out our luggage had not made it on the flight with us to Grand Junction from Dallas. (Surprise) The kind lady at the front desk of Hotel Jerome made sure we had Hotel Jerome t-shirts and toiletries waiting in the room for us. I was so thankful for the kind hospitality, and felt at home as soon as I had stepped into the hotel's open and historic lobby.
I love Hotel Jerome because of it's friendly staff, history, and location. Located at the foot of majestic Aspen Mountain, Hotel Jerome is just steps away from the heart of town. They even offer a complimentary car service that will drop you off anywhere in the town. Everything you need is within walking distance, including a two floor drug store right next door that literally carries everything Target carries. Hotel Jerome also offers a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, and a wonderful spa.

After some rest, it was finally time to eat a good meal. The food is amazing at Hotel Jerome, you can't go wrong with anything. I woke up to a gorgeous winter white view and ordered a delicious breakfast via room service. Hotel Jerome was so nice, they also sent hot chocolate and foot warmers.

A delicious breakfast in my room. |

Looking at this picture is currently making me hungry. These blueberry pancakes were so good, and this was truly the best homemade hot chocolate I have ever had in my life! |

After a very filling breakfast, I decided to walk around the hotel's surrounding area to see what was around. I was in desperate need of a blow out. (I didn't have anything to syle or even comb my hair properly.) Luckily, there was a fabulous hair salon just a block from the hotel's main entrance. Louie and I met a few cute huskies on the way.

J-Bar, short for "Jerome Bar", remains the town’s social hot spot, with its lively yet casual atmosphere. All I can say is they have the best burger in Aspen- hands down! |

Yummy homemade chicken noodle soup that warms you up is a must! |

A very delicious burger and fries, and a turkey sandwich with coleslaw. I think I just ate this entire trip, haha! |
After a nice lunch at J-Bar, I headed to Smuggler Park to take some scenic photos. Hotel Jerome's car service not only drove me there, (only a ten minute drive from the hotel), but they even waited until I finished taking pictures. Louie absolutely loved the snow, and thankfully I packed his little coat in my carry on. He enjoyed walking in snow that was taller than him. He was so cute hopping in and out of the snow like a rabbit. Everyone in Aspen adored Louie.

Boots by Sorel from Intermix Aspen. |
Since I didn't have any clothes with me in Aspen, I found an Intermix in town, and bought a few things to wear. I bought a super cute pair of white Frame skinny jeans that ended up looking really chic in the snow, and Sorel snow boots since I didn't have a pair of reliable snow shoes. Sorry hot pink Uggs, you were not cutting it.

Hotel Jerome not only has J-Bar, but they have Prospect Restaurant, a modern American bistro serving up hearty and diverse dishes with a flare. Make sure to check out their Sunday brunch.
The Living Room is an open, inviting lounge that has a feel exactly as it sounds. You can relax and enjoy small bites, and creative drinks from the lobby bar. This stylish lounge is also perfect for groups.

Casa Tua, one of my favorite restaurants. |
Aspen is known for luxury and great food. One of my favorite restaurants (that can also be found in Miami Beach), is Casa Tua. Enjoy Northern Italian cuisine and fine wine, just ten minutes away from Hotel Jerome by car. Another one of my favorite restaurants, is Japanese restaurant, Matsuhisa. Matsuhisa is perfect for families, and is conveniently located right across the street from Hotel Jerome.

Thank you again so much Hotel Jerome for hosting us! The experience was truly unforgettable. My first trip to Aspen exceeded my expectations, even with my lost luggage, thanks to Hotel Jerome's outstanding hospitality. I will definitely be back, and I recommend Hotel Jerome to anyone visiting Aspen! It's a Home away from Home!
