I just got back from the most incredible cruise last week! It was incredible because it was a Virgin Voyages cruise. An adults only cruise, I never imagined a cruise could be so much fun and luxurious, with a handful of restaurants offering a variety of the most gourmet cuisines right at your fingertips. Our cruise was also Jlo Beauty Inspired, which was very cool, and I received products in my room daily from the entire JLo Beauty Collection, that I absolutely love and use everyday for that JLo Glow!
We did the "Dominican Daze" five night cruise that leaves from the Port of Miami. The first stop is Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Tucked between the Cordillera Mountains and the Atlantic coast, this charming Dominican port embodies geographical duality at its best. It's a beautiful city! The second stop was Bimini, in the Bahamas, where you had the option to explore the island at leisure, or hang out at Virgin's private Beach Club- which is exactly what I did.
There were a few days at sea, and even those days were so fun because the ship has so much to offer. There is entertainment, live music, and food in every corner of the ship. It's actually fun exploring the enormous ship, which is named Lady Scarlet, and venturing out to new experiences daily. Virgin Voyages has plenty of entertainment, including their own shows and even a nightclub on board. It's also fun meeting new people while out and about on the ship.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the other small group of influencers on this trip, so the whole experience was super fun. Richard Branson made an appearance on the first day before we set sail for a special speaking appearance. There was also a spectacular drone show for us on the Miami skyline before we set sail around 9pm into the Atlantic Ocean.
Virgin Voyages makes everything incredibly fun, and the entire ship's staff is so sweet and helpful- every single person on board. Virgin Voyages is definitely Disneyland for Adults. You won't want to leave when it's over.
I enjoyed a 75 minute massage the second day at sea, at the Spa, with my wonderful masseuse, Vina. Small but mighty at just four foot eight, Vina was able to give me a deep tissue massage that took all of the knots out of my back, enabling me to be completely relaxed the entire trip. The Spa also offers day passes for their sauna and steam room area. The ship has an amazing gym with beautiful ocean views, and offers daily fitness classes as well.
We got so lucky with our amazing deck hand, Shandy. Shady brought us everything we needed to our suite, whenever we needed it. He went above and beyond for us, even becoming our friend. Shandy really made the experience unforgettable and special for us, as first time cruisers.
I spent my days exploring the ship. I stopped at the café on the main floor every morning, got my triple shot vanilla latte, worked a little from my computer on an outside deck, (everyone gets free wifi), and then grabbed lunch and tanned each afternoon at different locations around the ship's upper decks.
My personal favorite restaurants on the ship were: The Wake, a modern steakhouse that also offers an amazing brunch, Gunbae, a lively Korean BBQ restaurant, The Pizza Place, an outdoor pizza lounge with the most delicious pizzas, & Lick Me Till...Ice Cream, an ice cream parlor with delicious homemade ice cream. Another cool place I loved was an area called "The Dock", an all blue Mediterranean themed terrace at the end of the ship where there was live music in the afternoon, fresh juices, cocktails, and small Mediterranean bites.
Of course, the days when we got off the ship, were the best because I love exploring new places. Each stop had a beach club, but you are not limited to just the beach clubs, as there are tons of excursions to explore, including exploring the cities themselves. Overall, this trip was just incredible and I had absolutely no complaints. It was an experience of a lifetime, and I am just looking forward to my next Virgin Voyages cruise this Summer, stay tuned!
