BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

It's September, my birthday month! I finally did the photoshoot of my dreams, at the location of my dreams in NYC- Tiffany & Co. I also officially had Breakfast At Tiffany's (and champagne, lots of champagne), at Blue Box Café by Daniel Boulud. Blue Box Café is located on the 6th floor of the Fifth Ave Flagship store. I have loved the movie Breakfast At Tiffany's since I was a teenager, (my second favorite movie of all time is Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn), and I finally lived my dream!

One of my favorite scenes of Breakfast At Tiffany's is the famous opening scene. Audrey gets out of her cab, and is wearing a gorgeous custom Italian satin black dress made by her then real life friend and designer, Hubert De Givenchy (the actual dress is featured in my photos below), walking down Fifth Ave in the early morning. Audrey is in her own world, while gazing into the display windows, eating a croissant that she dips in her cup of coffee, and is lost in her own world of dreams and aspirations.

I've wanted to recreate this scene, in my own way, for so long so I can frame the photos and put them in my house. I just remember watching this movie over and over through tough times when I was younger, and it just immediately cheered me up. There's something about Audrey's fashion, her acting, the timeframe, and of course the magic of New York City in general that makes this movie and Tiffany & Co so special to me.

Believe it or not, I own Tiffany's jewelry, I've been to NYC a million times, but I have never ever been inside the Fifth Ave Tiffany & Co store before. I guess I was just waiting for the perfect occasion. This experience was just a magical one. After shooting in front of the iconic store front and windows, we had brunch at Blue Box Café. I highly recommend making a reservation at least a month in advance, as this café is extremely popular and always booked.

After pastries, tea, champagne, salad, caviar, and lots of photos, we made our way to the Audrey Hepburn exhibit inside the store, located on a separate level to see the little black Givenchy dress that Audrey Hepburn actually wore in the opening scene of Breakfast At Tiffany's. The opening scene is iconic. This made my entire year. Truly. I am so thankful for this experience, and will bring my kids here one day for the same experience.

Oh! I obviously have to mention that on the first floor sales floor(where Audrey also filmed a scene of Breakfast At Tiffany's. The very first time Tiffany & Co allowed filming in the store ever), we got to see the enormous Tanzanite and diamond necklace on display, and of course the main attraction, The Tiffany Diamond. At 128 carats, The Tiffany Diamond is one of the largest and most celebrated fancy yellow diamonds in the world. In 1961, The Tiffany Diamond was turned into a necklace and worn by Audrey Hepburn for Breakfast At Tiffany's publicity photographs.
