Bonjour from Marseille and Cannes with Virgin Voyages

Last month I boarded the "French Daze & Ibiza Nights" cruise by Virgin Voyages. The cruise left from the Port of Barcelona. (Read my Barcelona travel post here.) The cruise was a complete dream vacation that I would recommend to absolutely everyone who loves to travel. I absolutely love Virgin Voyages, (this was my second cruise with them), because it's adult only, with gourmet unlimited food, and has the best service. The stops on this cruise were in the beautiful cities of Marseilles, Cannes, Mallorca, and Ibiza.

I had never been to any of these cities before, they were all on my bucket list), and now I love all of the cities very much. They are so different, but so truly unique and beautiful. All four cities had stunning sea views.

I've always wanted to go to Cannes, so being there lived up to all of my expectations and more. The beach in Cannes and views are truly stunning and worth going there alone. In Cannes, I visited several hotels and shops along the main street, Boulevard de la Croisette, including the famous Carlton Cannes Hotel

I had absolutely no idea what to expect in the city Marseilles, France, the first stop on the cruise, but was instantly intrigued. I did not research anything about the city, and wanted to explore the city blindly. After getting off the bus that takes you into the city from the ship, we walked through the city towards the marina area, called, The Old Port of Marseille. There were many cafés and shops along the way, including a very cool antique shop with very interesting things inside.

I discovered a local train that is meant to specifically take you all the way up the mountain to see the cities Notre Dame, officially called, Basilica of Notre-Dame of la Garde. Marseille is so similar to Paris, it's just located on the water in the South of France.

The Notre-Dame de la Garde, is the cities best known symbol to see, and one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen in my life. The drive that the small train takes you on along the coastline all the way up the mountain to where the grand Notre Dame sits, is one of the most memorable and beautiful drives I've ever been on!

I also really enjoyed eating fresh crêpes in Marseilles, a food France is known for. If you visit any part of France you have to try crêpes at least once. I wouldn't mind eating them every day. These two days in Frances were truly so different, and so amazing, I am so thankful for these experiences thanks to Virgin Voyages
