Colorful Cartagena, Colombia with Allure Chocolat By Karisma

I visited Colombia for the first time EVER last week, and I stayed in a very colorful and historic city called, Cartagena. Cartagena is an absolutely beautiful and brilliant city that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. The culture, the architecture, and the land is all so amazing. Cartagena is right on the Caribbean Sea and is so rich in history.

I stayed at the very modern and conveniently located hotel, Allure Chocolat by Karisma. Located in the heart of Cartagena, Allure Chocolat exudes the utmost charm. This waterfront hotel boasts a rooftop infinity pool with truly spectacular city views. Located just ten minutes walking distance from the Walled City or "Old City", Cartagena, and attractions such as San Felipe de Barajas Castle, it has so much to offer!

The breathtaking rooftop pool was my favorite part of the hotel. With views of modern skyscrapers and the beautiful ocean- it was picture perfect!

The other side of the rooftop faces the city, and the clock tower entrance into the "Old City". In the morning, breakfast is served on the beautiful rooftop, and it is truly the best way to start your day. Don't forget to try the Colombian coffee!

Once you're inside the "Walled City" in Old Cartagena, every corner and store front has so much personality. Every colonial street is so mesmerizing, just like a scene from a movie. (In fact, Will Smith was just there weeks before filming a movie!)

The wall that surrounds the city is made of stone and was built in the 16th Century to protect the city and it's people during war. There are actually very large canons on top of some portions of the wall that face the ocean.

Since I visited Cartagena in late July, it was very hot. Their weather is much like Miami's- humid and hot. If you don't mind the heat, then I recommend visiting during the Summertime.

There is soooo much to do and see, and you can also get to know the culture by speaking to the locals. I don't speak Spanish fluently, but I enjoyed practicing my Spanish the entire trip. Not to worry, lots of locals speak basic English. I especially loved the ladies walking around in bright colored dresses who balance fruit on their heads in giant bowls. I have never seen that before!

The one thing I didn't get the chance to do is go out on a boat. I spent so much time in Old Cartagena exploring and taking pictures, I didn't have anytime to visit the isles nearby by boat. But, there's always next time!

Of course, I always hear the question: Is Cartagena safe because it is in Colombia? I felt very safe at all times. The whole area is a tourist area, and it's mostly all tourists and locals who work in the tourist industry walking around. There are families and people of all ages everywhere, it was just like traveling to any other city. Just like any other trip out of the country, I would not recommend leaving the main part of the city and venturing out unless you have a guide with you.

Just like all of my trips, I enjoy discovering restaurants and trying local food. I enjoyed the fresh fruit at local stands and pretty much everything I ate on this trip. My hotel had a fantastic restaurant with delicious food called "Red Knife Restaurant" that is also open to the public.

Every building, street corner, and view has so much character and history. Cartagena is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. I highly recommend visiting Cartagena, Colombia because no matter who you are, you will find something you love.

The Dinner Celebration For The Launch Of Sirena Tosh

I launched my endless Summer-inspired handbag line, Sirena Tosh June 1st and I am SOOO excited about it! I celebrated with an intimate dinner with close friends at one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Miami, Serafina Miami on June 27th.

Sirena Tosh is inspired by my love for travel and commitment to endless Summer days. Sirena  (Sir-en-uh) means mermaid in Italian, inspired by my love of exotic beaches. Each bag is handcrafted with love in various parts of Southeast Asia. Handmade with love means each piece has it's own unique finish.

The theme for the dinner was Summer on the Amalfi Coast. I used a lot of lemon decor to achieve this look, and I even made the adorable floral arrangements myself. (Thank you Pinterest!) Not to mention, the Sirena Tosh cart for the gift bags was super cute too!
